A Cold New Year's Day Flight -- 2007-01-01
On New Year's Eve Sue and Bob had dinner together with friends over at
George's house. Then since Rich was in town on New Year's Day Sue
took him up for a flight. George and I tag along in the back seat.
That was all a lot of fun! Rich is working on his own pilot's license
and so flew the front seat with Sue instructing.
But... First we had to get the snow cleared from the front of the
hanger door. That was easier said than done. It had frozen the door
to the ground. Just getting the door broken free of the ground was a
challenge. George and Rich worked really hard chipping away at the
ice so that we could pull the plane out and go for a flight.
Then after the flight we had to chip the ice off in order to get the
hanger door closed.
Here are George's pictures and all of his captions. I added the two
of mine that came came out but otherwise thanks to George for all of
these pictures.

Rich is rightfully proud of his recent flight. And looks good next to Sue's plane. |
Back in the hanger, we had to dig some snow out to close the hangar door. |
|
And break up some ice there too. |
