Arriving in Siem Reap, hotel included a free transfer from airport. In a Tuk-Tuk. Cool! Our first selfie in a Tuk-Tuk. We will use these a LOT getting around town! Electrical wiring... hmmm.

After a bit we realize this is the norm here. Yup this is normal. The electrical wiring all over Siem Reap is this way. Yup. After checking into hotel, we set out on foot. Cows tethered grazing next to the river.

We stop at Davy bar/restaurant in the market for drink and munchies - apple juice (yellow) and iced green tea. great veggies! and spring rolls. Later we realized why this market is so quiet - it's ~3pm and this is the "Night Art Market", it comes alive after dark. Next, pedestrian bridge across the river to the other markets and huge party area, Pub Street. Not quite what I think PITA stands for :-)

on a big bus. Next, Phare Circus - they of course have a gift shop so Sue had to buy earrings. $5, a deal and it helps the kids. Phare is trying to give underprivileged kids free school in arts, music, dance, theatre, gymnastics. It's like a kids version of Cirque du Soliel, and trying to break the circle of poverty. Of course they have a Cafe there too, so we had dinner. Angkor is the local beer, more veggies and rice (yum!)

Inside the circus theatre, we're in the cheap seats behind a pole, but not bad for buying ticketes 2 hours before showtime. Seats are slowly filling up. They say 1200 kids are enrolled in the free school and 150 have already graduated and gotten professional jobs in the arts. Nearly full and still a few minutes before performance. It was SO good we are going back again Friday night!
